Important survey by the Partnership for a Disability Friendly Community

Posted by admin on January 28, 2009 under Finance, General | Be the First to Comment

This organization created a survey to gather information about the unmet needs of people with disabilities (and their family members and caregivers).

Those with a disability of any type (physical, mental, developmental or a chronic illness) are invited to fill out the survey being administered by the Lehigh Valley Research Consortium. The survey questions may also be answered by a family member of caregiver of a person with a disability. There is no cost to participate in the survey, and participants may remain anonymous.

The research results will identify the most important issues facing people with disabilities and will highlight opportunities for change. The Partnership will use the information gathered to formulate preliminary recommendations for action planning.

The survey is available online in English and Spanish at www.lehighvalleyresearch.org/disability_study from January 19 through March 31.

In addition to the survey being online, it is available in print, large print and Braille upon request. To receive a copy of the survey via the mail or with questions about the survey, contact Lanethea Mathews-Gardner at mathews@muhlenberg.edu or call 484-664-3737.

For more information about the Partnership for a Disability Friendly Community, contact Cynthia Lambert, Vice President for Government and Community Relations, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, at 610-776-3323 or clambert@gsrh.org.
