We have all heard or read about identity theft and the financial nightmares that arise when an individual’s identity is stolen. Unfortunately, this crime has bred a relatively new form of identity theft - medical identity theft. This crime can be even more dangerous than the more publicized financial identity theft since medical identity theft can cause life-threatening events or even death.
Never too late for one last resolution.
As we turn the calendar page to February, many people have already given up on their New Year’s resolution. But, it’s never too late to resolve to improve your memory. March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month
There’s been a lot of talk in the news lately about making good deals so here’s one for you: If you were offered the chance of extending your life in exchange for a day or two of discomfort, would you take the deal? Colonoscopy, and other tests that screen for colorectal cancer – the second leading cancer killer – have been widely credited for saving lives. And yet, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that one in three adults aged 50 to 75 have not been tested. March is colorectal cancer awareness month.
