Subaru gift to Meals on wheels northamptonMeals On Wheels of Northampton County was the proud recipient of a new 2018 Subaru Outback at a special event Wednesday at Faulkner Subaru Bethlehem. Faulkner Subaru Bethlehem General Manager Dave Kopew and Subaru corporate officials presented Meals On Wheels of Northampton County Executive Director JoAnn Bergeron Nenow with the Subaru Outback that is fully wrapped with the Meals on Wheels America and “Subaru Loves to Help” co-branding.

Nenow also received $250 in gas cards to help cover the costs of mileage for the vehicle’s meal deliveries. (A video of this presentation can be found at https://youtu.be/H2cXEqDxdvs.)

Meals On Wheels of Northampton County was one of 50 Meals on Wheels organizations across the country selected to receive a new 2018 Subaru Outback through a partnership between Subaru of America Inc. and Meals On Wheels America. Subaru of America donated these Outback vehicles in celebration of its 50th anniversary and its philosophy of supporting local communities.

“It’s absolutely wonderful to receive this 2018 Subaru Outback,” Nenow says. “This new vehicle will allow us to deliver our healthy, nutritious and medically tailored meals to more home-bound seniors and adults with disabilities in need in our community. Our case managers also will use the vehicle when meeting with current and potential new clients, and it will provide great exposure for our mission throughout the community. We are so grateful to Subaru of America, Meals on Wheels America and Dave and his team at Faulkner Subaru Bethlehem.”

The Subaru and Meals on Wheels partnership is part of Subaru Loves to Help, a pillar of the automaker’s larger Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment effort dedicated to making a positive impact on local communities across the country. Over the past nine years, Subaru has contributed more than $12 million to Meals On Wheels America and provided more than 1.7 million nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks to seniors in communities nationwide.
