“O Come, O Come Emmanuel” as we await the return of Christ again to give us a life that will be everlasting.
At the prophecy of the birth of Christ and the message the angel gave to Mary regarding giving birth to a child, we may wonder, “Mary Did You Know?” How must she have felt with this news? We can only imagine what she was pondering about what God had intended for her as she was about to give birth to a child and name him “Jesus.“
It was on this “Silent Night” that was so calm, and the brightest star was shining in the night. It was so long ago when Mary and Joseph went to a place where there was no room at the inn.
“O Little Town of Bethlehem” became the birthplace to where Mary and Joseph had traveled, and it was there that Mary gave birth to this newborn king.
The shepherds watching their flocks by night were frightened as “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” glorious songs in honor of this wonderful event. They hurried to find this babe that the angels had told them about. How anxious they were to seek the Christ child wrapped in swaddling clothes, “Away In A Manger,” asking, “Do You Hear What I Hear?,” as they learned this child would be “The Light of the World.”
And there were “We Three Kings” who followed the star and sought this new king. They honored Him with gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Perhaps they understood that, as the Son of God, “He Shall Reign Forevermore.” They were commanded to return to Herod the king, who was ruling at that time, to advise him where they had found Jesus. But when God warned them in a dream not to return to Herod because of his evil intent, they returned home another way. What “Joy To The World” this would bring for all mankind, when Jesus was born of man to save us from our sins.
“Come Thou Long Expected Jesus” now gave everyone who chose to follow Him assurance of His everlasting love, and hope that no matter what storms they may have to weather, He would be with each and every one of them always.
It is “The First Noel” that we should always remember and celebrate as Christmas comes every year, rejoicing and praising God for this miracle that gave us our first Christmas. “Honor this King of Kings” and allow His spirit to fill your heart during this blessed season.
It is pertinent for us to “Go Tell It On The Mountain” that Jesus Christ was born. Let us reflect on this magnificent story on this “Oh Holy Night,” for it was the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ that gives us hope for peace on Earth and good will to all men.
“And He shall reign forever and ever. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hal-le-lu-jah.”
