Behavioral Contagion

You are sitting with some friends, watching a comedy. They start to laugh at something you didn’t think was so funny. They laugh uncontrollably, and soon you’re laughing too, but you don’t know why.

I’m not trying to hypnotize you — I’m introducing you to what social scientists call “behavioral contagion.” This means people will “catch” certain behaviors from others.

Senior Prom in Easton

Third Street Alliance held its “Senior Prom” recently and had a very nice turnout. A formal party invitation was sent out announcing the event. The attendees were decked out in their finest outfits and had a wonderful time dancing to the tunes. This particular event was geared toward our more senior citizens. It gave them a chance to get out and “cut the rug” a bit. The event was held at the Alliance’s building at 41 North Third Street in Easton.

Love Conquers All - Part 3

After Tracy adopted Hannah she adopted Noah, who was three and half years old with severe cerebral palsy. Tracy drove to Baton Rouge, Louisiana with Caleb and Hannah in tow to pick up Noah. On the way home, Tracy discovered that Noah also had Pica, a disorder which causes the patient to eat non-nutritive substances, such as dirt or articles of clothing.
